I tell now of a desperate fight,
A secret devotion was at hand;
Betwixt the daughter of a knight
And celibate ruler of the land.
While all the kingdom bathed in sleep,
The lovers left the castle's rune.
What pain, it was, to silent keep.
To meet just at the rise of moon.
And in the mystic forest night
For every sunset, they would meet.
The king, consumed in azure light,
His noble lady he would greet...
Until the demons seized the land
And men were rallied to defend.
The crown prince forced to lead the fight,
To lead his warriors into the night.
The lady, forced to sit at home,
To wait unrested, all alone
And sick for her lor

As the night envelops me,
I am finally let free.
To the moon, I now belong,
Under sheets of honesty.
Sleep is a narcotic,
So my true heart here prevails,
As my eyes are shut and I detach
From the real world's troubled tales.
May I never yet awaken,
For my joy exists in me,
All the good is real, and the hate is gone
When I wish for it to be.
As for all that ails my spirit,
In my dream, it's forced away.
The Devil shall not get me here,
For asleep, I'll always stay.

The winds of the arctic,
Like daggers of cold.
The dark, silent deepness
Of a blue, icy hold.
Shards of wet glass
Sinking into the skin.
Slicing like razors,
Drawing blood, cutting thin.
Why, when I kiss you,
Do your eyes lose a tear?
My lips, are they painful?
Do they chill you, my dear?
Is it true, have I lost all the warmth
From before? I once burned with affection.
That me is no more, for I'm frozen and cold,
My skin has gone pale. I'm just an illusion,
Soul-less and frail. If you search in the glacier
Of hatred and pain, you may find my image
and chillen form slain.
